Grand River Dam Authority investigators believe alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors in the crash, though few other details have been released and the investigation is ongoing.

Close friends have suggested a second boat may have been involved and the two were racing before the crash.

Upon completion, the investigation will be submitted to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office for review.
