TULSA - A Tulsa man is trying to find the person he says hit him with a car.

It happened earlier this month on 51st St. and Peoria Ave. Ronnie Lewis said he was riding his bike through the crosswalk when the light was red. He said, “About three-quarters of the way through the crosswalk, the light turned green. The cars start going. One stopped. The last one did not.”

The car slammed right into him, and Lewis claims he flew onto the hood of the car.

He said, “I didn’t think I was hurt that bad. She got out of the car to see if I was alright. I told her I was fine.”

He went on his way but later realized he wasn’t fine, adding, “I went to the hospital with bruising from the right side of my body, all the way down, all the way to the tail tailbone. Where the bumper hit me on the leg, it all swelled up.”

Lewis didn’t want to file a police report or press charges because the driver asked him if he was alright at the time and he initially thought it was his fault. But he says he asked police if there were cameras at that intersection.

At this point, Lewis doesn’t want to get anybody in trouble. However, he does want the person who did this to come forward to hopefully help pay for some of the medical expenses.
