Jenks student arrested for assaulting school employee, police officers

JENKS, Okla. - An 18-year-old Jenks student was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a school employee and several police officers.

According to the police report, the incident began when Cody Brinkley refused to hand over his cellphone.  He allegedly shoved the school employee out of the way and ran from the school.

Police found Brinkley nearby trying to get into a black Ford Taurus.

According to the report, Brinkley refused to obey the officers' commands and eventually "advanced toward" them.

One officer sprayed Brinkley twice with pepper spray, yet he continued his advance.

According to the report, two officers used their batons on Brinkley's legs but it had no effect.  Three officers eventually took Brinkley into custody.

One officer later sought treatment at a local hospital for a bite wound attributed to the teen.

Brinkley was booked into the Tulsa County Jail for various charges of assault and battery on a police officer and school employee as well as resisting arrest.
