Vacant House Fire
TULSA - An overnight fire at a vacant north Tulsa house turned into an arson investigation.
The house near Independence and North Lewis caught fire around 3 a.m. Wednesday and was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived.
A neighbor called it in, saying they'd heard a large bang right before they saw the fire.
Crews on the scene told 2NEWS the fire seemed suspicious because no one was living in the house and there were no utilities hooked up inside.
TFD spokesman Capt. Stan May said the initial investigation indicates the fire was arson.
The house caught fire several months ago when an elderly man was living there. It was scheduled for demolition soon.
