COWETA, Okla. -- The Coweta Chamber of Commerce brings the parade back to the fall festival after receiving major backlash from the community for voting to cancel the parade weeks ago.

The parade will start at the Junior High School and they'll turn on Pecan, cross Broadway, onto Bristow, and then turn onto Chestnut which will loop them back to the school.

The Chamber also asks parade participants to avoid using trailers, because of how narrow the side roads are.

As for security, a local business donated state of the art barricades tested to withstand the impact of a large vehicle traveling more than 30 miles an hour.

"With them helping to provide those to us for the festival, we can block either end, the north or south end where the festival is, and take those water filled barriers and other barriers we’ve used in the past to help us block the side streets, which will help us with our safety," said Carrie Allamby, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber says they'll gave full Coweta police presence at the parade and festival.

The parade starts at 9:45 a.m. on September 15th.
