Hours-long standoff in Broken Arrow Sunday ends as police take suspect into custody

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Broken Arrow police arrested a man after an almost six-hour-long standoff Sunday.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the Fairway Crossing subdivision around 4:30 p.m.

When police arrived they found the suspect, 32-year-old John Pruner, had barricaded himself along with his wife and her 2-year-old.

After police spoke to the man, he eventually let the woman and toddler leave but continued to warn police he would harm them if they entered the home.

"He likes to sit in a lawn chair in his driveway and stare at people at all weird hours of the day, night it doesn't matter," said neighbor Kyle Stitt. "I don't know if he had a job I've never seen him leave. I've never seen his family."

Around 10:20 p.m. the Broken Arrow Special Operation Team used a flash bang to distract Pruner and entered the home where he was taken in to custody.
