Today in Green Country's black history, we're highlighting Hardy E. Weaver.
He was a pioneer foot patrolman in the early 1930s.
The duty of the foot patrolman was to see that doors of all businesses were secure and to keep order.
The area he patrolled was about five miles from Greenwood to Pine.
He walked the beat for four years until the patrol car was instituted.
