Arraignment set for ex-megachurch employee

UPDATE: Arraignment has been rescheduled for Feb. 1.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A former janitor at a Tulsa megachurch charged with making a lewd or indecent proposal to a child is set to be arraigned.

Arraignment is Tuesday in Tulsa County District Court for 23-year-old Israel Castillo. The 23-year-old Castillo worked at the 17,000-member Victory Christian Center and allegedly sent explicit Facebook messages to a 14-year-old girl.

He has pleaded not guilty.

He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. A judge already decided there was enough evidence for Castillo to stand trial.

Another former church employee was sentenced last month to 55 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl at the church.

Five church employees also face misdemeanor charges for allegedly waiting two weeks to report the 13-year-old's rape. They have all pleaded not guilty.
