American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout Thursday, encourages smokers to quit

Smokers are being asked to give up the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in America: Tobacco.

It's used by nearly one-fifth of Americans every day.

Thursday is the Great American Smokeout, sponsored by the American Cancer Society. It's all about encouraging smokers to quit and educating everyone on the health risks and financial costs.

For example: Every cigarette smoked cuts your life expectancy by five minutes and smoking just twice a day for a year would set you back $200.
