Explosion occurs at south Tulsa home while construction workers paint, 1 person injured

TULSA - One person was injured in an explosion at a south Tulsa home Wednesday.

The call went out just after 10:30 a.m. to a home near 57th Place and Urbana, one block west of Yale.

One person was transported to a nearby hospital after sustaining burns.

Fire officials on the scene said the explosion occurred in the kitchen while construction workers were in the home painting.

A small fire was extinguished following the explosion.

A fire investigator will determine the cause of the explosion, though it has already been ruled accidental.
