Independence Day fireworks in Oklahoma: July 4, 2014 activities around Green Country begin June 28

Thousands will gather around Green Country to celebrate America’s independence with fun, food and fireworks. Events began June 28 and run through July 5.

Fleet Feet Firecracker 5

The 5K race hosted by Fleet Feet Tulsa begins at 7:30 a.m. A stroller 5K is set for 7:25 a.m., followed by a fun run at 8:30 a.m. For more information, visit

Kendall-Whittier July 4th Parade
500 S. Birmingham Ave.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. in Kendall-Whittier Neighborhood. The event will include a rock wall, hot dogs and snow cones for children in the neighborhood.

Jenks America Freedom Fest
Jenks Main Street

This is a fun-filled day of food, music and celebration in downtown Jenks. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes concerts by local musicians and a kids zone. Admission is free.

Sooner Boomfest
Jenks Riverwalk

Los Cabos will host the 5th annual Sooner Boomfest, one of the area’s largest fireworks displays. Events and concerts begin at 2 p.m. Balloon artist and face painting will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., Tulsa Warbirds will flyover. To open the fireworks display, "The Voice" contestants Alaska and Madi will sing the national anthem. Fireworks are set for 9:45 p.m.

Stars and Stripes Funfest
SE Expo Center, McAlester

Event is free to the public and includes inflatables, a live concert with the “Sunset Band” and a fireworks show at dusk. Activities are scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m.

ONEOK FreedomFest
2100 S. Jackson Ave.

One of the largest fireworks displays in the area will be held along the Arkansas River. The year’s event includes activities for children – inflatables, rock climbing and face painting – vendors and an expanded viewing area. The event begins at 6 p.m. and ends with a more than 20-minute fireworks display at 9:40 p.m. Click here for information about parking and here for road closures . Bartlesville Freedom Fest
Downtown Bartlesville

Event includes games and activities for all ages, a parade, talent contest and concessions. The event begins at 6 p.m. and with fireworks at 9:45 p.m. For a full schedule of events, click here .

Claremore’s 4th of July Celebration
Claremore Lake Park

The events includes concessions and inflatables for children at 6 p.m. Live entertainment will begin at 6:45 p.m. Free parking will be available at Will Rogers Stampede Arena with shuttle service to and from lake. A kids fishing derby will also be held at 7 p.m. The first 400 participants will receive a fishing pole. Fireworks are set to start around 9:40 p.m. or when it gets dark.

Fantastic Fourth Celebration
Maple Park, Wagoner

The fireworks show is set to begin at 9:30 p.m. Live music will begin at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Red White and BOOM
Owasso Greens Golf Club

Owasso's annual Red, White, Boom fireworks display will take place at the Owasso Greens Golf Club and will be visible from many areas of the city. Fireworks will launch at dark, at approximately 9 p.m.

American Heritage Bank Celebrates America
Sapulpa Walmart parking lot

Activities will begin at 7:00 p.m., including fun activities for the kids. The big show will start at 9:45 p.m. Viewing and parking for the fireworks show is available in the Sapulpa Wal-Mart parking lot, as well as, the fields to the east and behind the store. Fireworks will launch from the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course.

Fireworks will begin at dusk. Event also features live music. Admission is free.

Grand Lake Fireworks
Disney (Grand Lake)

The third annual Cliff Elliott Memorial Fireworks Show, presented by Grand Lake Fireworks, Inc., begins at dark between the spillways in Disney.

The event hosted by the Mannford Chamber of Commerce and City of Mannford will feature fireworks at dark.

Saturday, July 12

Vera Fireworks
Williams Center, Vera, OK

Vera is hosting a fireworks show at the Williams Center on Main Street.  A band will be playing and food will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Rain date:  July 19.
