National Frozen Custard Day reminds of Oklahoma's intense summer heat

TULSA - Another sweltering summer for Oklahoma, and it only seems to get hotter.

A recent report shows the whole country is experiencing unusually high temperatures, but Oklahoma has seen the brunt of the heatwave -- again.

The state has experienced some memorable heat-related occurrences, from the serious to the slightly comical.

It's been hot enough to cook a pizza in a car dashboard.

It's been hot enough to melt a mailbox.

And, being that Wednesday is National Frozen Custard Day , 2News got into the spirit by time-lapsing video of the summer treat puddling in the sun.

Enjoy your custard. Fall will be here before you know it.
