Brett's Weather Blog: Our weekend storm heads for the east coast slowing holiday travel

Greetings,

Here in Green Country, the sun is out and for today we will warm up into the 40s. We do have a cold front that arrives this afternoon that is sending us back to the "deep freeze" but it's only for a day, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the deep south and the east coast are bracing for a a mammoth Nor' Easter that will spread heavy rains right along the coastline and heavy snow further inland.

Here's a snapshot of the way the storm will look Wednesday around noon.

It stretches all the way from Maine to Florida. Forecasts in central Pennsylvania are calling for 8 inches of snow. In the mountains of North Carolina, there is a concern for heavy freezing rain. In Alabama, Georgia and Florida it looks like heavy rain will fall.

Meanwhile, around these parts we will enjoy sunny, tranquil weather through the end of the holiday weekend. The next chance of rain appears Sunday afternoon or Sunday night.

Have a great Tuesday,

Brett
