The Super Bowl may have been a nail biter, but the ads were a snooze.
Covering a Super Bowl isn't always as much fun as it may appear as Big Al discovered in Atlanta where he encountered a tobacco-chewing hotel maid with no towels, no media passes, and a broken camera only hours before the big game!
From where to store the media credentials to pulling a leg muscle to running into a couple of celebrities, the first Super Bowl matchup between the Cowboys and Bills offered a lot of excitement and anxiety for Big Al. And that was before the game …
Being from New York, Big Al makes no apologies for his love for the Yankees, Giants and Rangers. But you may be surprised to hear, the big man actually rooted for the Dallas Cowboys in the early '90s!
Four voters in the AP poll gave OSU a first place vote. And they were not homer pickers. One vote from Los Angeles, one from Boston, another from Ohio, and finally a vote from SEC country, Georgia.
What a Fiesta Bowl. What a season. The best ever for OSU Football. Now what. Are there more big seasons ahead? Sure, go ahead, spoil the good times, immediately wonder what is ahead. Can the momentum to continue? It is up to OSU to make it happen again and again and again.
Which teams were the big winners in 2011? Obviously the 12 teams that made the playoffs, and the Colts for only winning 2 games and clinching the Andrew Luck sweepstakes as the number one pick. Still wondering though what the Colts will do since they just fired the GM and his assistant. Detroit in the playoffs for the first time in a long time, San Francisco completing turning the season around with the coaching change to Harbaugh.
Do the Colts lose on purpose to get the #1 overall pick, and do the Rams lay down to give themselves a chance? Do we need a draft lottery in the NFL to avoid a conspiracy theory?
At this point of the season, players are exhausted. Coaches have been fired. Playoff spots have been determined, and then again, some have not. This is the time of the year when players and teams need to suck it up. Coaches need to check stupidness and stubbornness at the door. Two weeks left, lets brace up the bandages and get after it.
Seattle still has a chance for the playoffs. So does Arizona. And San Diego. Is this a great league or what? In fact, Indy is still is alive for the top draft, even if they win this weekend. Hey, guess what. I'm picking the Colts to win this week.
