The Climate Prediction Center released their spring outlook for the months of April, May and June.

After one of the warmest winters on record, it looks like temperatures will stay warmer than usual across most of the country. The only exceptions are the West Coast, Northern Rockies and Northern Plains.

This is the first season in roughly two years without an El Niño or a La Niña in play.

Despite the warm winter and lack of snow for most of the country, some spots still got a hefty dose of winter's cold and heavy snow.

Record snowfall in the Rocky Mountains and in parts of the Northern Plains means an increased chance for flooding in the coming months.

These chances for flooding are only increased in those spots once the higher chances for a wet spring are taken into account.

The first day of spring is Monday, but with the recent snowfall in the East and across the Midwest, it appears the spring season will be off to a slow start in some spots.
