Serena Williams withdraws from Fed Cup final

Serena Williams has decided to withdrawal from the Fed Cup final against Italy, the U.S. Tennis Association said on Saturday.

Williams, who has not played in a Fed Cup event since 2007, will be replaced by Vania King for the November 7-8 matches.

The 11-time Grand Slam winner is unbeaten in Fed Cup singles competition.
