Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday in connection with a September arrest.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that West was indicted on "two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of carrying a handgun, two counts of transporting a handgun, one count of reckless driving and one count of negligent driving."

West faces up to three years in jail for each weapons charge and a $2,500 fine per offense.

"It is our understanding that today's developments are part of the legal process that continues to take place with Delonte and he and his legal council will handle that," Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry. "We will continue to take this matter very seriously and monitor and respect the legal process as it proceeds, but not speculate or comment about it."

In September, the 26-year-old was arrested following a traffic stop on his motorcycle for allegedly carrying a 8.5-inch Bowie-style knife, a 9mm Beretta, a Ruger .357 and a shotgun inside a guitar case that was hanging on his back.

Last season West left the Cavaliers during training camp to be treated for what he later said was bipolar disorder, according to The Plain Dealer.

The St. Joseph's product, in his sixth year in the league, missed the first three games of the 2009-10 season before returning on Friday and posting 13 points in a Cleveland victory over Charlotte.
