Team Oklahoma eliminated in Intermediate 50/70 Southwest Regional little league baseball tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - It didn't end as they had hoped.

Team Oklahoma was eliminated from the Intermediate 50/70 Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament Wednesday night by the team from West Texas.

The boys finished the tournament with a 3-2 record and taking third place. 2NEWS photojournalist Gary Griggs said West Texas was the better team Wednesday, but both teams displayed great sportsmanship by posing for a post-game photo and eating dinner together. Griggs' son Joey is on the Oklahoma team.

Team Oklahoma beat New Mexico Tuesday night to advance one step closer to the championship game.

Oklahoma won 18-11 and will play West Texas at 9 p.m. Wednesday for the right to play in the championship game Thursday. The team got ready for the "Red River Rivalry."

Monday night, the Tulsa Little League team improved to 2-1 after a come-from-behind win over East Texas in the Intermediate 50/70 Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament.

The team is the U13 State Champions comprised of boys from across the Tulsa metro.
