Son of Oklahoma boxing royalty Tommy Morrison shines in pro boxing debut

Back in 1993, Green Country's own Tommy Morrison defeated George Foreman to become the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Twenty-one years later, and just six months after Morrison's death, his son, Trey Lippe Morrison (also 24 years old) made his Pro Boxing debut.

Lippe Morrison defeated Kris Renty of Oklahoma City Saturday night at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK.

Morrison was knocked down early in Round One, but gathered himself and controlled the fight from there. Morrison would end Round One with a flourish and mid-way through Round Two, Morrison connected with a huge overhand right and two punches later won the fight by knockout.

After the fight, Lippe Morrison said, "It was a good and fun experience. My adrenaline was rushing and it got me a little tired ... I've got a lot to learn. That was a good learning experience."

Lippe Morrison's manager, Tony Holden, says he expects his fighter to be back in the ring in about two months.
