Report: Patrick signs three-year deal with Andretti Green

Last Update: 9/25 12:07 pm

Danica Patrick has reportedly signed a three-year contract to stay at Andretti Green Racing and remain in the IndyCar Series.

The Indianapolis Star reported the agreement Thursday night.

The 27-year-old Patrick, who was third at this year's Indy 500, was reportedly considering making the move to NASCAR. This is her third season with AGR and her fifth in the IndyCar Series. She became the first woman to win an IndyCar race by capturing the Indy Japan 300 in April 2008.

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart said earlier this month that Patrick was seriously considering making a move to the stock car circuit. Her move to NASCAR would have likely involved the NASCAR Nationwide or Camping World Truck Series.

Patrick, currently fifth in IndyCar points, is in the final year of her contract with Andretti Green Racing. She spent her first two years with Rahal Letterman Racing before moving over to AGR in 2007.
