Sooners look to regroup after loss to Kansas State Wildcats

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones thinks the Sooners are still in the national championship race, although he acknowledges he'll have to play better for them to have a chance.

Jones has accepted most of the blame for No. 16 Oklahoma's 24-19 home loss to Kansas State on Saturday, after he fumbled to give the Wildcats one touchdown and threw a momentum-killing interception on another drive.

He noted that in 2008, the Sooners played for the national title despite a mid-season loss to Texas and that "all our goals are still in front" of Oklahoma this season.

Coach Bob Stoops says there is plenty of blame to spread around after the loss to Kansas State and Jones is just one of many Sooners who needs to improve.
