NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Riding high off a Red River Rivalry romp, it could be tempting for No. 10 Oklahoma to start gearing up for another big showdown next week against No. 5 Notre Dame.
But first, they'll have to deal with some of the former Fighting Irish.
Coach Charlie Weis and quarterback Dayne Crist, both transplants from Notre Dame, will lead last-place Kansas (1-5, 0-3 Big 12) into Norman on Saturday night in a potential trap game for the Sooners (4-1, 2-1). A year ago, unranked Texas Tech snapped Oklahoma's 39-game winning streak on Owen Field.
Sooners coach Bob Stoops said Monday that his team realizes that there's an "enormous game this week" and not just the one that awaits against the Irish.
The Fighting Irish and Sooners play Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in Norman.
