Charges have been filed against University of Okla. running back Joe Mixon in alleged attack

OKLAHOMA CITY - University of Oklahoma's running back, Joe Mixon, has been charged in the alleged attack of a woman.

According to court documents, a misdemeanor charge of grossly disturbing the peace and public decency was filed Friday.

Amelia Rae Molitor, 20, has accused the 5-star recruit of punching her in the face on July 25 and says she has four broken bones.

In the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the altercation between Mixon and Molitor stemmed from the use a of homosexual slur directed towards a friend of Molitor's.

Mixon's attorney says his client "did nothing wrong” he was protecting himself from verbal and physical attacks by an intoxicated woman.

OU suspended Mixon July 30 and said they would "monitor the situation."
