STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State is facing its first bit of adversity this season.
The preseason favorite in the Big 12 was upset 31-20 by West Virginia (http://bit.ly/osuvswvu) in their league opener Saturday and dropped 10 spots in the AP poll to No. 21.
The Cowboys made a ton of mistakes, including two missed field goals, two poor punts of 20 yards or less, dropped balls, inaccurate throws, three turnovers and had a running game that generated little traction.
Next up is a home game against defending Big 12 champion Kansas State on Saturday.
