Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich waiting to assess Cowboys quarterbacks

STILLWATER, Okla. - New Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich doesn't plan on making any decisions about who his starting quarterback will be until after he gets to see all the candidates in action during spring practice.

The Cowboys had three different quarterbacks win games as a starter last season. Clint Chelf began the season as the third-stringer but ended up as the starter, even after Wes Lunt and J.W. Walsh recovered from injuries.

Yurcich said Thursday in his first interview session since being hired last month that he has been studying tape of Oklahoma State's offenses from the past several years. He won't start assessing the three quarterbacks until he sees them on the practice field.

The Cowboys open spring practice on Monday.
