Oklahoma State Basketball squares off with Kansas State Wednesday night in the Big 12 Tournament.

If the Cowboys lose, many believe it will be the end of the Travis Ford era in Stillwater.

A potential replacement that has been supported by many OSU fans on social media in recent weeks, is former Cowboys point guard and current broadcaster for CBS, Doug Gottlieb.

In a recent interview with KJRH Sports Director Al Jerkens and the Tulsa World's Bill Haisten, former Oklahoma State head coach Eddie Sutton said he would endorse the potential hiring Gottlieb.

"I would. Sean would, too,” Sutton said, a reference to his son and former OSU head coach Sean Sutton.

“Most players who are any good, and if they’ve played in a good coaching situation, they can coach,” Sutton said. “I would have no problem in supporting (Doug Gottlieb)."

“Doug is smart. I think he would be a great recruiter. If he’s smart enough to get good assistant coaches — guys who similar to the way he feels — I think he would be all right.”
