Last Update: 11/05 1:07 pm

Rutgers and Army have agreed to participate in the first Football Bowl Subdivision game at the new Meadowlands Stadium.

The Scarlet Knights and Black Knights will meet at the $1.6 billion, 82,500- seat building on October 16, 2010.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Rutgers and we are thankful to our friends at the new Meadowlands Stadium Corporation, along with the Jets and Giants for their partnership," said Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti. "We have witnessed first-hand the construction of the new Meadowlands Stadium and we are looking forward to competing during the inaugural season at the state-of-the-art facility."

Rutgers, which also played in the first collegiate football game at Giants Stadium in 1976, has played Army nine times in East Rutherford, the last coming on October 12, 1996.
