March 19, 2007 Steve Weinstein, News Director was a guest speaker at the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) meeting.
April 13, 2007 Peter Noll, Creative Services Director was a guest speaker at Oral Roberts University to a class of fifty
students and three professors about television careers, marketing and job opportunities at KJRH. He spoke individually to about 
fifteen students after the program and distributed our internship program one-sheets.
April 13 - 20, 2007 Steve Weinstein, Dale Vennes, Director of Engineering, Blake Cates, News Operation Manager attended
the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference.
April 13 - 20, 2007 Steve Weinstein, News Director attended the Radio Television News Director Association (RTNDA) conference
as a member of the panel who discussed job opportunities in broadcasting with college students.
Mike Vrabac, Vice President/General Manager is a member and past President of the Tulsa Executive Association. The association
is comprised of a group of 200 Tulsa Business Executives who meet weekly to discuss and exchange ideas and solutions to problems
related to all business leaders.
June 1, 2007 Steve Weinstein, News Director attended the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) convention in
San Jose, California.
August 7, 2007 Steve Weinstein, News Director attended the North Tulsa Community Coalition as representative of KJRH. The topic
was "Positive Media for North Tulsa"
October 22, 2007 Mike Vrabac, Vice President/General Manager was elected to the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Advisory board
and attended the Leadership Retreat.
December 4, 2007 Rick Cohn, General Sales Manager, Randy Smith, Local Sales Manager and Samantha Knowlton, Public Relations
Manager attended a University of Tulsa Marketing Class as professionals viewing the class marketing campaign project pitches.
Julie Chin won the prestigious 2007 William R. Burleigh Award of $5000 for Community Service from the Scripps Howard Foundation.
Phil Berman, Julie Chin and Erin Christy each received $1000 volunteer grants in 2007 from the Scripps Howard Foundation for their
community service.
A KJRH EEO Public Service Announcement is broadcast regularly to the community about our commitment to
Equal Employment Opportunity and to encourage interested candidates to apply for job openings at the television station.
Linda Gibby, Human Resources Manager oversees the KJRH Internship Program to assure compliance.
Potential interns are asked to complete an internship application and submit a cover letter, resume and reference letter
from their school internship advisor. The reference letter will indicate that the student is in good standing
and will be eligible to receive academic credit for the internship. The length of the internship is determined by the Advisor
and an evaluation is submitted by KJRH as required. Students from area colleges such as the University of Oklahoma in Norman,
Oklahoma, Oral Roberts University in Tulsa and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater have participated in the program and students
are occasionally recommended through the station's corporate parent. In addition high school students may be given the
opportunity to "shadow" an employee of selected Departments in the station to help them gain valuable OJT skills that can help 
them to decide what field of broadcasting they wish to pursue in college.
