Where to donate and volunteer in the Tulsa area and help those in need this holiday season

Tulsa -- Our community has so many good people who want to offer time and resources to help others, especially this time of year. We've collected a list of organizations that need your help here in Green Country.

Holiday Gift Giving:

Family and Children's Services Santa Shop  - Their Santa Shop needs to be restocked. Donations needed include Toys, books and games for children, clothing, coats, pajamas and HUGS (hats, underwear, gloves and socks.) 

Youth Services Tulsa - Contribute to Gifts of Hope and adopt a teen. 

Life Senior Services - Help decorate or fill 600 stockings for senior citizens.

Toys for Tots - Toy distribution will be in the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Broken Arrow December 16 - 20.

Salvation Army – Many opportunities: Adopt an angel at the Angel Tree at Woodland Hills Mall. Distribute Angel Tree gifts and food baskets. Get a group to sign up to bell ring at a Christmas Red Kettle. Help at a Christmas party for needy Children on Thursday, December 15. Help with the Christmas Carol Sing. 

Oklahoma Veterans Project Adopt-a-Vet -- Help provide Christmas for the families of Veterans

John 3:16 Mission -- Feed a hungry and homeless person this Christmas. $2.11 provides a meal and shelter.

Food 2 Families - Make donations to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma at all area Reasor's through December 13th. 

Holiday Volunteer Opportunities:

Night Light Tulsa – Help feed and build relationships with members of Tulsa's homeless community. Just show up downtown every Thursday 6:30-9:30 p.m. under the bridge at Maybelle and Brady. All ages welcome. 

Coffee Bunker – Support our service members and veterans with various volunteer opportunities.

Catholic Charities– Sign up to help with Christmas basket distribution Saturday, Dec. 17. 

Community Food Bank – Volunteer to pack bags or donate food.

New Hope – Serve dinner every Monday 5:30-6:45 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church – call Caitlin (303-906-7710) or Jennifer (806-441-6186) to let them know you’re coming

New Hope Christmas Party – Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 am – ALL AGES WELCOME - serve food, help with crafts, etc.
