As Britain braces itself for the repercussions of the vote to leave the European Union, some are immediately regretting the decision to vote Leave.

BBC interviewed a man about voting to leave, he said “I’m shocked that we voted for Leave, I didn’t think that was going to happen.”

Then he added “I didn’t think my vote was going to matter too much because I thought we were just going to remain.”

The response prompted some strong reaction from social media.

One person posted on Facebook saying “What we have here is a prime example of the failure of this countries education system.”

BBC reported that the Leave won 51.9 percent of the total vote to Remain’s 48.1 percent after the final count. Turnout in the referendum was 71.8 percent - with more than 30 million people voting.

So, it’s safe to say that man’s vote did, indeed, matter.

The voter went on to add “The David Cameron resignation has blown me away to be honest and the period of uncertainty that we’re going to be magnified now so yeah, I’m quite worried.”
