Weatherford man arrested for computer sex crimes against children

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - A 22-year-old Oklahoma man was taken into custody Wednesday by state agents for computer sex crimes against children.

According to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials, William Cantrell, of Weatherford, was arrested after an operation that had agents posing as children.

OSBI officials say Cantrell told undercover agents posing between the ages of 9 and 13 he wanted them to send nude pictures of themselves, to perform sex acts on themselves and to meet him for sex.  The communication occurred online.

Cantrell and the undercover agents scheduled a meeting at a dressing room at Walmart where Cantrell was employed.

OSBI officials say when he arrived for the meeting, state agents and local police officers arrested him on five counts of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16 as well as two counts of violating the Oklahoma computer crimes act.

Cantrell was booked into the Weatherford City Jail.

Meanwhile, OSBI agents continue to investigate.
