MIAMI, Okla. - Miami residents will hear warning sirens Monday as the city's Emergency Management office tests tornado sirens throughout the day.
Monday's test will sound different than what residents typically hear.
During the normal weekly tests all the city's sirens are tested together. Today each one will sound individually and for various lengths of time to ensure each one is functioning.
City officials say if any weather-related watch or warning is issued during the testing period the sirens will be stopped and the evaluations will be postponed.
