Small earthquake recorded in central Oklahoma Wednesday morning

LAKE ALUMA, Okla. (AP) -- The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a small earthquake in central Oklahoma.

The agency reports the 2.7 magnitude quake was centered near the town of Lake Aluma (uh-LOO'-muh) -- about 8 miles northeast of Oklahoma City -- when it struck at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The Oklahoma County sheriff's office says there were no reports of injury or damage.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans.
