Reverend Jesse Jackson in Stillwater for forum regarding conviction of ex-OSU basketball player

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Rev. Jesse Jackson is expected to be in Stillwater Thursday for a public forum on the conviction of former Oklahoma State basketball player Darrell Williams.

Last month, a jury found Williams guilty on two counts of rape by instrumentation after two women testified he sexually assaulted them at a party in 2010.

The Oklahoma State University chapter of the NAACP got involved because Williams' supporters believe race was a factor. Both of his accusers and all the jury members were white.

On Thursday, Jackson is expected to participate in a public forum about the trial.

Williams is scheduled for formal sentencing Friday. The jury has recommended one year in prison on each count.
