OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office is confirming that two 76-year-old men found dead after severe weather this week died as a result of the tornadoes.

Office spokeswoman Amy Elliott said Wednesday that Chester Barnes, who lived near Wynnewood in Garvin County, died from closed-head trauma during Monday's tornado. About 35 miles away near Connerville in Johnston County, Jackie Brooks of Milburn died from multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.

Flying debris is the greatest danger during a tornado, and experts advise residents to cover their heads if a storm is bearing down.

The National Weather Service has said the damage in the two counties where the men died was consistent with at least an EF3 tornado, with wind speeds between 135 mph and 165.
