Oklahoma tax subcommittee passes state tax credit bill

TULSA - Oklahoma lawmakers want more accountability when it comes to state tax credits.

Some legislators say there's currently no way to know how many jobs are created with the state funding or if they were used in the way they were intended.

A tax subcommittee passed a bill Monday that would require more oversight.

Still, some lawmakers spoke against the tax credit legislation, claiming it would discourage businesses from coming to Oklahoma.

Meanwhile, the committee voted down a bill that would have required 32 tax credits to end in 2014.
