Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation looking into Craig County police-involved shooting

CRAIG COUNTY, Okla. - Vinita police have requested assistance from state agents with an investigation into a Craig County police-involved shooting.
According to officials with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, two Vinita officers and an officer with Big Cabin Police Department initiated a pursuit near Highway 69 and Highway 66.
The suspect's vehicle traveled down a dead end road before it turned around and drove toward officers.
OSBI officials say the officers fired at the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Michael O'Mara, of Wichita, Kan. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
O'Mara was booked into the Craig County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The officers' names are being withheld while the investigation is ongoing.
