LAWTON, Okla. - The second Oklahoma soldier in less than a week has died supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, the Department of Defense confirmed Monday.
Saturday, 1st Lt. Brandon J. Landrum, of Lawton, succumbed to injuries obtained by a roadside bomb in Maiwand, Afghanistan. The 26-year-old was one of five soldiers killed in the blast.
The men were part of the 1st Batallion, 36th Infantry, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division out of Fort Bliss, Texas.
Twenty-one-year-old Pfc. Charles McClure, of Stratford, was killed in a vehicle accident in Kuwait just two days before Landrum.
