Oklahoma schools to receive preliminary student test scores as part of district report cards

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Department of Education is to begin sending preliminary student test scores to school districts statewide.

The scores will be released to the state's 520 districts starting Wednesday and are a part of the A-F report card that grades districts in Oklahoma.

Other portions of the report card that was first issued last year include student achievement, student growth on test scores and whole-school improvement. Whole-school improvement includes student attendance, dropout rates and the number of students in advanced courses.

Education Department spokeswoman Sherry Fair says the report card will be released publicly around the end of October.

Two districts received a grade of F on the report cards last year and the grading system drew criticism for several superintendents statewide.
