OKMULGEE, Okla. - Family and friends gathered Friday to remember Mary Beth Kafer, a teacher who served the Glenpool School District for more than 25 years before someone ran her down and killed her with a car.
The service was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Church in Henryetta.
Okmulgee authorities have arrested Michael Kafer , 62, reportedly Mary Beth's brother-in-law. He stands charged with second degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon, and remains jailed on a $1 million bond.
Investigators say the killing resulted from an ongoing family dispute.
