EDMOND, Okla. (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the slaying of a homeless Edmond man known as Bicycle Bob has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
In May, 22-year-old Connor Adam Mason entered the guilty plea to the 2009 death of Dwite "Bicycle Bob" Morgan. On Friday, a judge sentenced him to life.
The Oklahoman reports Mason stabbed Morgan 40 times, leaving wounds in his head and neck. Police say Morgan was also twice hit in the head with a hammer.
Prosecutors described Mason an evil man who should be locked up for the rest of his life.
Mason's mother testified that she sheltered him over a 10-year period to protect him from an abusive father.
