Group works to connect tornado victims with photos

Seven families have already been reunited with 104 photos lost during the storm thanks to the Oklahoma Photo Rescue project and the group hopes that number will increase.

Coordinator Kristi Brummal says some of the photos date back to the early 1900s and were found more than 100 miles away.

Brummal says it's important to reconnect people with their photos because it may be the only thing they have left.

The effort is similar to one that came about after the Joplin tornado in 2011 in which more than 35,000 photos were collected and 17,000 claimed by their owners.
