Efforts to stop scalpers from making a quick buck selling inauguration tickets

TULSA - Tickets to the Jan. 21, 2013 official swearing in ceremony are supposed to be free.

Several online websites have promised to either ban the sale of inaugural tickets or have staff monitoring their site to remove such offers as soon as they're posted but offers can be found.

Officials say while many of the offers are fraudulent some who received the coveted tickets are turning around and selling them for hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Congressional offices and the Inaugural Committee are distributing 250,000 free tickets.  Many legislators say those who receive tickets from them must pledge to not resell them.
