Families of college students be aware a growing number of universities are automatically enrolling students into their own health plans as part of accepting admission. Either take the student off of the parents' health plan or opt out of university coverage to avoid double billing.
Check your credit cards: You don't want to double-up on expenses like roadside assistance coverage or extended warranties when many companies offer coverage as a free perk when you use their card.
