Mullin leads pack in fundraising in 2nd District

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The latest campaign finance reports show plumbing company owner Markwayne Mullin continues to outpace his Republican primary opponent in fundraising in the race for the open 2nd Congressional District seat.

Federal Election Commission reports show Mullin topped $869,000 in total receipts through the end of June and has more than $150,000 in cash on hand.

Mullin's opponent, state Rep. George Faught, has raised more than $417,000 and had a little more than $30,000 on hand at the end of June. Mullin and Faught will meet in an Aug. 28 primary runoff in the race for the GOP nomination.

On the Democratic side, longtime prosecutor Rob Wallace has topped more than $530,000 in total receipts, compared to a little more than $337,000 for his opponent, seed company owner Wayne Herriman.
