$40,000 stolen from Michigan Catholic church after Easter services

SHELBY TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) - More than $40,000 in cash is estimated to have been stolen from a Michigan church Sunday.

Police tell our Detroit Scripps station, 7 Action News, a break-in occurred at St. Therese Lisieux Catholic Church following Easter services.

Chief Rolland Woelkers of the Shelby Township Police says the cash was taken along with a number of chalices.

The stolen cash had been donated by parishioners over the holiday weekend.
