Man arrested after falling through church ceiling

TULSA - One man is in jail after apparently falling through a church ceiling during an attempted burglary.

Police say they responded to Unity Church at 1830 S. Boston Ave, when witnesses say a white male, wearing a tank top fell through the ceiling.

The suspect got into the church through an exterior door and climbing into the attic, police say.

A short while after, police responded to a nearby area to check on a man who was knocking on doors in the area.

Officers found the man knocking on doors and noticed his description matched the witnesses description at the church, officials say.

Police took the suspect to the church where witnesses confirmed he was the man who fell through the roof.

Police identified him as Allen Idell.

Idell was arrested and booked into Tulsa County Jail on one count of first degree burglary and one count of second degree burglary.

Shortly after, police responded to investigate a burglary near the area where police found Idell, police say.

Officials say they found that the lock had been picked and Idell's health card was found just inside the door.
