Wednesday, thousands of Oklahomans took part in a national "Tax Day Tea Party" protest.

TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already, and organizers are against government spending and the complicated tax code.

Many support the Fair Tax Plan.  That proposal replaces federal income and payroll based taxes with a national sales tax.

Congressman John Sullivan was among the speakers during Wednesday's demonstration at LaFortune Park.

TEA parties were held in 760 cities nationwide.  Three were in Tulsa.

Green Country residents take the stand and speak out against new taxes.

The protestors are taking a stand on government spending and corporate bailouts.

Hundreds of people showed up for the rally in downtown Tulsa followed by another rally in South Tulsa.

The 'tea' in tea party is an acronym for 'taxed enough already'

Some of the tea party protestor ideas include eliminating the federal income tax and creating a national sales tax.

Congressman John Sullivan led the charge In South Tulsa.
