A Tulsa soldier on leave from Afghanistan came home Sunday on a special mission.

Army Specialist Kerry Davis arrived at the Tulsa International Airport to a delighted family who gave him a rousing homecoming.

"I didn't expect this, but this is awesome," said Davis.

Passengers on his flight from Dallas also cheered, as his mother Gloria Davis gave her son a big hug.

"Oh my gosh, I think I'm gonna faint," said Gloria Davis. "I'm so happy"

During his leave, Davis will also fly to Vegas to marry his fiance, Keesha McGee. Davis proposed before his deployment in July 2009.

Davis, a field artillery specialist, will return to Afghanistan in two weeks.
