In a prepared statement, Muslims across Oklahoma are speaking out against the deadly shooting at Fort Hood.

Oklahoma Muslims feel the loss of the murdered Ft. Hood soldiers deeply and strongly condemn this despicable act. Thousands and thousands of Muslims have honorably served in the American military since the founding of this nation. The victims of this Fort hood shooter are our compatriots, brothers and sisters in arms protecting this country. We honor them and their families for their sacrifice. We can only imagine that this was an act of illness because no cause, religious or political, is served by such a horrific deed.

The suspect in the Fort Hood deadly shooting, Nidal Malik Hasan, is Muslim.

The Muslim community in Tulsa wants to make sure the actions of one man don't get mixed up with their religious beliefs.

Recently internet posts with Hasan's name on them came to the attention of federal authorities.

The posts discuss suicide bombers and the heroism involved in their acts.

Muslims in Tulsa know they may face some backlash of people feel this deadly shooting was religiously motivated.

They want to remind people their religion is not violent. They say this shooting affects them in the same way it does the rest of the nation...they are grieving.

"What has happened, there is no justification for it. You know this is an act of someone who has an illness because there is no religious or political justification for anything like this," said Sheryl Siddiqui, the community relations director with the Islamic Society of Tulsa.

The investigation into what truly motivated Hasan will continue.
